Jodie Foster was wonderful in 'Maverick' (1994)

She's such a great comedienne when she turns her hand to funny material. This ethos associated with the counterculture years was probably instilled in her while working for Disney as a child. It may also have helped her maintain her studies, while creating some kind of life balance, and allowing her to stay cool while tackling darker material (there's a long history of child performers going off the rails). Plus, she was naturally goofy by all accounts, so Mel Gibson took to her as a stooge (though she sometimes flipped the table).
