Not really, but I do wonder about posters who essentially hate watch tv shows. Like…they dislike episode 1 but continue to watch each episode weekly. It’s like they enjoy being disappointed, annoyed and angry. I understand with Marvel or DC. These characters have existed in many mediums over many years. It’s rare that they get a film or tv show (a first for most) so it’s an event for all fans. Unfortunately, it’s the least discerning who are rewarded. That’s fine, but the rest of the fandom may still watch for curiosity, closure and hope for something positive to come out of it.

The big issue with this board back then was how personal shit got when it came to discussing Marvel, DC or even Star Wars. Like Jesus Christ posters dead relatives got brought up and mocked. One user even doxed another user. All because they took these films seriously. That was all from the pro-MCU side. They were, among other things, delusional. The ‘trolls’ had a right to voice their opinion (even if some disagreed with it).

Not at all. Maybe a little boring at times. Perhaps an offer of clemency should be granted to the exiled members cast adrift to parts unknown, knowhere to be found. We could be one big happy family again.

The kind where someone throws a bowl of mashed potatoes against a wall and runs out with the turkey!

I will say that there has been an increase in negative posts lately (negative towards MCU anyway) but that was more a result of Phase 4's decline in quality.

True, but we’re all MCU fans and venting frustration is part of being a normal fan. I never understood this idea that true fans must be positive all the time. It’s still amazing to me that there are people who believe that.

It’s still amazing to me that there are people who believe that. Same here. With the exception of maybe two of them, I've seen every MCU movie in theaters starting with The Avengers. It didn't occur to me until Civil War came out that superhero movies were becoming a big thing. That's how long it took me to realize this isn't a niche thing anymore. By George, the marvel movies are mainstream now. Not just well received movies here and there like the Spiderman or Dark Knight trilogies, but the lay of the land. What a time to be alive.
I think people get so defensive about movies because they see it almost like a personal attack. A la if you're saying such and such a movie is shit, are you saying there's something wrong with me?
Honestly there's so much to tease and poke and make fun of in the movies. I still think it's funny after all these years that Cap said "assemble" in Endgame after everyone showed up. I mean, isn't "assemble" an instruction you give people before they're assembled? And he said it to himself. Who're you talking to? Speak up, Captain, some heroes in the back can't hear you!
I think the board is fine, but it had some hairy moments when I got here. Personally I'm of the camp I've always been. I don't give a damn if it's Thor or Seven Samurai; it's all movies, all art, all escapism. I'm not usually a "people need to lighten up" sorta dude, but people need to lighten up.

I whole heartedly agree with all of this. I think you’re absolutely right there are those who view this very personally- the same way people do with politics. Admitting any flaws exist in their beloved franchise would be a betrayal, a gift to the opposition. Honestly I think that’s nuts.
