So I got a cat earlier this year. Male orange tabby. Great cat. Very chillax and loving except for when he's being an asshole. But it occurred to me that cats probably see themselves as the kings and queens. They get to lounge around the house and do what they want. Free food, treats, frequent pets, hugs, kisses while the tall lanky ones go out and work stupid jobs so the real rulers can live easy.

Take care to not overfeed him. But if he UNDER feeds him, the cat might eat his eyeballs! That's why I NEVER run out of cat food! They sleep in my bedroom!

That and our future overlords. Almost a dead ringer for my guy. Then you have the longest haired, fluffiest tabby of all time.

Enjoy yours; orange cats are special. If you don't believe it, just ask him! Oh, and if you see the tail up and switching slightly? He is contacting the Mother Ship.

I do enjoy him. He loves to socialize and get attention. If I'm in another room he can't get into he will usually meow to get in then start attacking the door, eventually making insanely loud thumping noises. Not even sure what he's doing but it sounds like slamming his body into the door at high speed. Last week I woke up to find a pack of dried minnows on the floor with the bag scratched open and a bunch eaten. He must have jumped up on the counter, opened the cupboard door, and then jumped up into the second shelf somehow because there were crumbs all over it, then clawed the bag open and pigged out, and finally knocked the bag onto the floor below. He definitely has skills. I keep a pair of tongs in the cupboard door handles now to lock him out.

I have two royal court cats: an entitled princess and a court jester.

That and our future overlords. Almost a dead ringer for my guy. Thor's face is a bit more broad & he has small fur tufts on the tips of his ears. His tabby lines are a bit more noticeable

With opposable thumbs so we can open cans & stuff. Our nails don't draw blood so we're perfect for neck scritches. Kili will often move from bathing herself to licking me. Especially my forehead or leg. When I broke my ankle, Illy kept laying on my leg purring (purring has healing qualities.) So they do their part

I've heard it said that, while most pets have owners, cats have a staff.
"Chablis," was a gray tabby who had plenty of "Attitude," and a sense of humor. I miss her.

The version I've heard is that while dogs have families...cats have staffs.

Knew it looked too long but it did appear to post, at least for me. I found one that's more normal looking but will have to try it in a new post as it doesn't even show in this reply.
