One of the first books i ever managed to read cover to cover with no scanning. The Lew Ayres movie is much truer to the book than the Richard Thomas version, though both send the same message. The Richard Thomas-Ernest Borgnine version, though, just wrote an entire new book.

Own the original. Watched it in history class way back in high school. I did watch the other version. (I wanna say it was from 1979 I think.) But I prefer the original. A very haunting classic.

I've read the book a few times but have never seen an adaptation. The wife and I both love the book and will no doubt watch this.
