It's hard to say if Brian De Palma will return to the director's chair though I've not heard that he's officially retired. Still, with just one movie directed in the last 10 years, he might finish his career off the summit of the Worst Director Razzie nominations list.
Despite this, De Palma can still claim to have been the early frontrunner having scored nominations for 'Dressed To Kill' (1980), 'Scarface' (1983), 'Body Double' (1984), 'The Bonfire Of The Vanities' (1990) and 'Mission To Mars' (2000). Amazingly, he is yet to win.

A sign of how much I am baffled by the Razzies. De Palma is one of my favorite directors.
One day I will finally get on adapting Obsession as an opera. One day!

It could be thrilling to see an opera of 'Obsession'. Thematically, it seems a perfect fit for opera.
I find there's a grand, operatic sweep to some of Brian De Palma's set-pieces, similar to the genre work of his contemporaries and fellow Italian-Americans Michael Cimino, Francis Coppola and Martin Scorsese.

The Razzies are more accurate now than they were back then.

I guess they have their work cut out.
Funny thing about Brian De Palma's last nomination is the painstaking research that went in to making 'Mission To Mars', right down to having geologists analyse rocks around Earth's surface to find a close match for the planet. De Palma took on the visual and rhythmic innovations of Stanley Donen and Wes Craven by constructing an elaborate revolving room set. He also created (what I found to be) a harrowing set-piece based around the concept of becoming lost within the darkness of space and time. Some movie critics at the time simply hated the whole thing.

I do understand the sentiment. Especially from when I was younger and saw how these high profile Raspberry awards could seriously damage a filmmaker's reputation (and thus, derail his/her career).

Comparing Michael Bay and Dennis Dugan's filmography, I think they're being a bit harsher on Michael Bay.

I really like Scarface and Carlito's Way. The first Mission Impossible was all right. Other than that, I don't really like his work.

Interesting that Landis' nominations match his bodycount.

There are two people that I know of who actually showed up at the Razzies to collect their awards; Paul Verhoeven for Showgirls and Tom Green for Freddy Got Fingered.
Was there anybody else?

Surprised that's all he has done recently. It'd be nice if he did one more film or two.

Most definitely. Seeing Francis Coppola working on 'Megalopolis' and Walter Hill wrapping up 'Dead For A Dollar' might spur him on.
