India really dropped the ball by not submitting this as their entry for Best International Feature. In a year without an obvious frontrunner, a crowd pleaser like RRR could have got the country its first win.

I don’t see it as Best Picture material but if they had a Best International Crowd Pleaser award it would be in the running. I can’t say I was too impressed even though it was still an entertaining piece of nonsense. Perhaps the cartoonish English villains didn’t help (The English Empire?) and the marksmanship and tactics of the army was so bad I was left wondering how we even managed to defeat ourselves in battle.

Indian movies are unwatchable garbage. How is this crap even getting attention.

Indian movies are unwatchable garbage. How is this crap even getting attention. Hey, hey. Come on now. Take it easy. Slumdog Millionaire was really good. Except for that dance scene at the end...and the part where the boy falls in the communal shitter.
