Some good college basketball games today - now is about the time I start getting into CBB with football winding down. Itβs interesting that North Carolina has gone from preseason #1 to not even ranked now.

Season starts in 30 days. It will be an odd season with no Jay Wright on the Villanova bench and no Mike Krzyzewski on the Duke bench. That's a combined 1,844 wins, 17 Final Fours and 7 national championships missing. Tough act to follow for Mike Neptune at 'Nova and Jon Scheyer at Duke. There used to be maxim for coaches, "Never follow the legend". The coaches who followed John Wooden at UCLA, Gene Bartow and Gary Cunningham won a lot of games, but got let go because the didn't win titles. Look at Indiana's struggles since Bob Knight got the boot. UNC struggled for a bit after Dean Smith and before Roy Williams. This could be the last year for "One and Done", with the NBA going back to drafting HS players soon. Should be a fun season anyway. Carolina returns nearly everyone from a team that was 30 minutes from an unlikely title. Gonzaga is loaded again but can it finally win it all?

Itβs interesting that UNC started the season as everyoneβs #1 yet they are now unranked - they are about to beat ND today.
UConn up 9 on Creighton, the Huskies are ranked at #4 right now.

I thought that the Heels were overrated. Yeah, they brought back everyone from last year when they had a title in their hands and let it slip. But this was the same team that was in real danger of not making the NCAA in late February. Their talent on paper never seems to make it onto the court.
I still think Houston will win it all

So nice to see Bama whipping Kentuckyβs ass, fuck Calipari and Kentucky. Alabama is a definite Final Four contender. 13-2. Big wins against Michigan State, UNC, Houston (the Cougars only loss) and Mississippi State, all ranked. And Memphis and Kentucky (Unraked). Two losses to UConn and Gonzaga. I think that teams that play a brutal non-conference schedule are big threats at Tourney time. I was a bit pissed at HC Nate Oats for leaving Buffalo after signing a big extension but he's a hell of a coach.

We actually might get a win against a better team on this boat for once. Have they sucked enough military dick today? Nothing like us having 750 bases in 80 countries, with a military budget higher than the next 10 countries combined, out their protecting our financial interests while calling it "defending our democracy." Purdue visits Sparty. About tip time.
