Everyone's favorite team, the Islanders, just hammered the Rangers in their final preseason tune-up. Stanley Cup here we come!!
The Preds jumped the sharks to get a quick 2-0 jump on the rest of the league. Tomorrow night, the Lightning open up at MSG, while Vegas heads southwest to take on the Kinds in LA. Everyone else kicks off later in the week.
Buddy of mine offered up tickets for Thursday's opener at UBS against the Panthers. He's got the TD Bank luxury box. How can I pass that up?!

Oh well... I see Jack Campbell is annoying Oilers fans so that's a plus.
Sportsnet's new virtual ads on the walls are new. Took me a couple shifts to notice them changing brands/company names on the boards, & until lower live angles of the ice, I wasn't certain if the real boards still had ads on them (they do). After 1111 games or whatever I've watched on tv in my life, this'll take a couple months to adjust - they change in the background, sometimes during pressure points & they're distractions.

I see the virtual ads are across the league, ESPN & Sportsnet alike. There's no putting that back in the bottle now. At least they could transition less frequently & lessen their distraction.
