Apparently it will be based on Halloween Party. Although it seems fairly obvious from the plot details they have given out so far, that they will make a lot of changes to the source material.
I like the idea of setting it in Venice, but other than that I'm not particularly excited about this.

I like the idea of setting it in Venice, but other than that I'm not particularly excited about this. I’ve read pretty much all of Christie’s Poirot novels, and this one is such an odd choice. I know many (myself included) consider it one of her worst, so frankly I’m glad they’re changing up the plot. I wasn’t a big fan of his take on Death on the Nile, but I’ll still give this one a shot. |

I still haven't seen Death on the Nile, but I've heard so many bad things about it, that I'm not in a rush to check it out.
As for Halloween Party, I'm not sure I'd call it one of her worst, but it's just not very memorable. The TV adaptation with David Suchet was already a bit whacky, so I'm expecting the new Branagh version to go the colourful and crazy route and hopefully spicing things up a bit.

There is only one Hercule Poirot and that is David Suchet I like certain elements to the various actors that played Poirot in the movies, but yeah Suchet is the definitive portrayal. |
