So here is the movie that marks the end of the career of Bruce Willis (though some more of his earlier-filmed direct-to-DVD films still have yet to be released). The much ballyhooed "Pulp Fiction" reunion between Bruce Willis and John Travolta that is directed by Chuck Russell (The Mask, Eraser, The Scorpion King). I thought the trailer would play the Guns N' Roses "Paradise City" song, but oh well.

At least Willis has an excuse. What's Travolta's?

At least Willis has an excuse. What's Travolta's? Gotti bombed? Travolta's excuse is probably the same as many formerly successful actors who start starring in bottom of the barrel movies, they just can't find good work anymore. Even before Gotti he was already starring in STV movies, though probably not as bad as the movies he has made since Gotti. Chuck Russell also directed him in I Am Wrath, which is a STV movie, but it isn't a terrible movie. It is competently made and competently acted.

Apparently Chuck Russell was attached to direct an 'Arabian Nights' movie with Dwayne Johnson, Anthony Hopkins, and Liam Hemsworth (?) over a decade ago. And now we're getting a different version from Disney apparently. Maybe he can direct it.

This movie is definitely terrible, but some parts can almost pass for an actual movie. The middle parts of the movie almost seem like they are directed by a more competent director that the rest of the movie.
The acting is bad (though Travolta is at least still interesting to watch) and as you would expect, the most famous actors aren't in the movie all that much.
The opening scene is definitely the worst part of the movie, with the editing and cinematography being terrible, presumably because it is using a acting double for Bruce Willis most of the time. The worst part is when you can clearly see it is not Bruce Willis. I don't understand why those shots are kept in the movie. Chuck Russell, even though he has fallen this far, should be creative enough to work around that. There is another part way later in the movie where it does a bit better job of hiding that Bruce Willis isn't the one on screen by him just being behind the other 2 characters and facing the opposite direction. It is just funny how obvious it is that they are purposely not showing his face.
I'll say this, it is a better made movie than the other D-grade movie I watched this year called Panama.

I watched em both. Part 1 sucks but part 2 was not too bad.
