Position-by-position breakdown, per MLB experts - I’ve never liked these because it’s not, for example, our second baseman vs their second baseman. It’s batter vs pitcher. Who cares if Jose Altuve is better than Jean Segura? Altuve is having a shitty post season anyway and doesn’t bat against Segura.

Poll is 12-9 in favor of the Astros.
Game 1 still 3 days away.

Per Phils Inside Analyst Corey Seidman - Interesting Topper leaning on starting Nola Game #1
'Wheeler has a 2.02 ERA in 18 starts this season/postseason when given an extra day of rest compared to a 3.66 ERA in 12 starts on normal rest'What a chess match Topper is playing here as Dusty is playing checkers Can you imagine if Aaron pitches the way he did when we clinched a playoff spot (throwing a no-hitter late) in Houston about 3 weeks ago? Then we have Wheels pitching in Game 2 Heading back to Philly - up 2-0 isn't out of the question Up 2-0 with 3 straight games at home

'with the possible exception of Justin Verlander'I can't stop laughing. You can't designate a best player in a series to somebody who plays every 5 days (maybe 4 since we're at The Show) Justin Verlander. PHHHEEWWW.....ouch....my sides - thanks for that!

But it's not touting Verlander as the best player in the series, it's weighing Verlander and Harper up in terms of the way they might be viewed in the future - and still gives Harper the clear win on that count. The sentence reads: "But of every player in this World Series -- with the possible exception of Justin Verlander, and even then I’m not certain -- he’s the one we’re most likely to be talking about in awe in 20 years."

OK. This did it....... ** Chills / Tears welling up **That's beautiful. Phil Martelli - the old head coach at St. Joes for years and years and now assistant at Michigan tweeted in regards to the Moneyball one - 'Is it normal for a grown man to be playing this over and over again in a hotel room with tears in his eyes - asking for a friend?' Moneyball (and The Natural) is one of my favorite movies - I get choked up when the music kicks in (did too in the movie theater when I saw the film) - it's just so fitting ....

I noticed that Casty isn't mentioned 1 time on any of those lists. This whole series is going to be redemption for Casty. World Series MVP He's going to prove that going up to the plate aggressive and hacking at everything under the sun - even balls 2 feet outside of the plate and in the dirt pays off

Was he rakin' at the plate in the World Series like this pitching legend - The Royals sure as hell weren't "raking" at the plate

Every game at 7:03 EDT. 2-3-2 with 1 travel day at each hyphen. John Smoltz endless yammering. No switch to standard time.

I actually enjoy Smoltz - shows 0 bias/favoritism towards the Bravos.
Find him incredibly knowledgeable and insightful
It's like listening to Aikman and Romo in the booth for me - others may disagree but when I listen to them they don't show any bias/favoritism towards the Cowboys - two of my favorite analysts/sportscasters/commentators to listen to.
