Growing up, both my mom and my step mom had the ABBA Gold CD, so I knew all those songs. Back in September I decided that since I liked all of the songs on that album I should listen to all their stuff. They've quickly become one of my favorites.

Last season, our hockey team's celebration song was "Dancing Queen". That is - it would play after the final buzzer when the game ends when our team won. I don't know HOW it became the celebration song....BUT I LOVED IT! Back in my youth, ABBA records used to play quite a bit. As such, a lot of the songs grew on me. Back 30 years ago, it was said there would be a new compilation of Greatest Hits - titled "Gold". It would be the first compilation ever offered on CD. Naturally, I said....I'M THERE! So, I picked up a copy on CD. I also worked music retail at the time. A couple of my mother's friends came into the store when our whole family was there. They start to go thru the CDs. One of the friends picks up "Gold". She asks me, "I suppose YOU wouldn't know anything about this?" Before I could say anything, my mother said, "He's got it!". I think the friend wasn't aware of my eclectic music tastes.  Finally: Later on, it was said there would be another compilation that would be released - titled "More ABBA Gold". There were only a couple of songs that I recognized. So, I didn't get it on CD. However, probably about a year ago, there was a sale on iTunes on classic pop albums - "More ABBA Gold" being one of them. It was something like $4.99. SOLD! Joker's Wilde |

They were a huge hit in Australia.
Back in the 1970s, both my mum and I loved ABBA... and I still love them to this day.
My personal favourite.
