YouTuber Mr Beast whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson is best known for his grand scale and philanthropic videos.
The American YouTuber has built a massive and dedicated fan following over the years. He has also given away thousands of dollars to those in need.
Hence when a rumor claiming that he was gonna buy out a Piggly Wiggly location in North Carolina spread, many rushed to the store to get the benefit of Mr Beast’s new philanthropic endeavor.
Keemstar reposted TikTok user meili.barbie’s video showing a grocery store employee telling customers standing in a queue that Mr Beast is not coming to the store.
“Mr Beast is not coming today due to security issues,” the employee who looks disappointed says before continuing, “And I am the one that gets to tell y’all.”
The grocery store employee once again announces to the customers in the back of the queue, “Everybody intending to get the groceries in the regular, Mr Beast is not coming today.”
“There are security issues he can’t even get here,” she continues.
The customers are heard mumbling in the background.
In his alleged reply to Drama Alert host, Keemstar, Mr Beast noted that he and his team have been “going around town all week doing small acts of kindness.”
The 24-year-old YouTuber also noted his alleged reply to Keem that he wanted to go to Piggly Wiggly and discreetly pay for some customers’ groceries. He says that he asked the manager’s permission to film in the store.
“They decided to spread the word far and wide that I was coming to buy out the store,” the YouTuber’s alleged reply reads.
Mr Beast reportedly said that it was the grocery store employees that spread the rumor.
The Piggly Wiggly store is yet to comment on the situation.
