This was a UK TV show from sometime between1990 - 2000, I think. Short run, only a few episodes.
One of the episodes was immigrants reaching the shores of Europe, and the problems it would cause. I remember the dramatisation had a stereotypical African family looking through a house window in Europe somewhere. They were out there, barefoot, freezing, starving, looking at the rich Western folks comfy on a warm sofa, watching TV and laughing.
Another one I remember was the effect of an aging population. Because of the retirement of more people, the working population shrunk...so the remaining working population had larger and larger tax and social care bills to take care of the elderly, and they had to work longer and longer for more hours. There were dramatisations about massive protests against the tax increases.
Thanks in advance!
