Guitarist Garry Roberts has died at the age of 72 (some sources cite his age as being 73). Roberts was a member of the Boomtown Rats.

He's remembered at the British Broadcasting Corporation : Garry Roberts (1954 - 2022)

Discovering the Rats and A Tonic For the Troops reminds me of a great time of personal musical discovery. There was something in the air those days. About the same time I was finding out about XTC, Talking Heads, Squeeze, Devo, The Pretenders, X, The Blasters and The Plimsouls to name just a few. Clubs opening up everywhere and greats shows at all of them. What a time.
