Definitely more of an autopsy than an anniversary. Really known for marking the end of Steven Seagal's run at the box office before going direct-to-DVD. Clearly having him pair up with rapper Ja Rule is Seagal trying to duplicate his box office success of his previous film "Exit Wounds" with rapper DMX. This movie's title feels appropriately named for Seagal's career status at that point. I think Seagal is supposed to be playing a Russian FBI agent (with no Russian accent whatsoever) and the camera keeping him in close-ups to hide his gut and double chin. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Half Past Dead (2002) - BOMB out of 4 stars"Seagal is an undercover FBI agent who arrives as an inmate at a prison on the same day a team of crooks--get this--break into the joint, to get a condemned man to tell them where there's a hidden stash of gold bars. To call this bad is an understatement...even by Seagal standards. Followed by a direct-to-video sequel." ![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d5/Half_Past_Dead.jpg)

Now he looks as though he could probably play the villain in one of his own movies.
