A number of Evangelical leaders are now whining that he was the man they supported is now a loser following the midterm elections. These Evangelicals are lamenting that the man they tried to use to push their Christian Nationalist agenda in turn used them. “He used us to win the White House. We had to close our mouths and eyes when he said things that horrified us,” said Mike Evans, who was on Trump’s Evangelical advisory board admitting they knew exactly what they were getting with their backing. Now, Evans says, “I cannot do that anymore.”
Evans reveals what a lot of people suspected all along — that the Evangelical Christians who loudly supported Trump knew all along that he was a horrible, un-Christian person, but they were willing to ditch their supposed values to get what they wanted. Evans wrote in the Washington Post. “We wanted Supreme Court justices to overturn Roe v. Wade. We wanted his support of our biblical values. We all wanted his support for the State of Israel.” So, Evans confesses that they are NOT people of God but cheap political opportunists who wanted to advance a Theocratic Government agenda.
Others now denouncing the cheating ex are James Robison, another faith advisor and president of Life Outreach International; commentator and vicious homophobe Everett Piper, was blunt in a recent op-ed in the Washington Times after several years of championing Trump: "Donald Trump has to go.”
Even ardent Trump supporter, famed televangelist, and man who said Satan made Jerry Falwell Jr. watch his wife have sex with the pool boy, Robert Jeffress, seems to be backing away from the former president.
All of this backpedaling and whining is not sitting well with the many people who were screaming at them all along that Trump was never a Christian and that his behavior was extremely contrary to the teachings of Jesus. They’re not buying the pity party.

IOW, they knew but did nothing and even supported him when it looked advantageous to them.

Fortunately, scientists have created a nano-violin to play a sad tune for them.

What did they think was going to happen. Trump is literally the most un-Jesuslike person on the planet.

The Evangelicals I know are big on forgiveness and 2nd chances, and they see people as a work in progress. I know some of them saw Trump as a "baby Christian" still trying to become a better person. Maybe they now accept that he's not even trying to become a better person.

Evangelicals…you used each other. He wanted votes from white Christians. You wanted power at any cost. The devil offered you “all this if only you bow down and worship me” and you did. This isn’t a time to whine. It’s a time to repent. - Rev Daniel

Meanwhile, Jenna Ellis, a lawyer who represented former President Donald Trump in his failed attempts to overturn the 2020 election:
"The five people who were killed in the nightclub that night, there is no evidence at all that they were Christians. So assuming that they were not, that they had not accepted the truth of the gospel of Christ and affirmed Jesus Christ as the lord of their life, they are now reaping the consequences of having eternal damnation And that is far, far greater – we should be having that conversation. Instead of just the tragedy of what happened to the body, we need to be talking about what happened to the soul and the fact that they are now in eternal separation from our lord and savior Jesus Christ."

"We all wanted his support for the State of Israel.” I've never really got why Evangelicals support Israel. The only reason I've heard put forward is they believe that Jews are God's Chosen people and Israel was the land God promised them. But then surely from a Christian perspective, Jews lost their special status when they rejected Jesus? Indeed, Islam has a more positive theological view on Jesus than Judaism does. Plus from an ethnic rather than a religious point of view, Palestinians and Jews seem to be closely related so there is probably a significant amount of Palestinians who are descended from God's supposed Chosen People. So of the two sides, both would have strong claims of being descended from the Chosen People of the Old Testament and one side has a more positive view of Jesus. Yet it's the other side that Evangelicals support.

They were 'used' the way a professional call girl is 'used'.
As Ernest Hemingway noted, every whore finds their vocation, and these particular whores for the Lord certainly found theirs in licking Trump's arse.
