I saw the tail end of this movie, on TV, sometime in the 60's. I don't know why I'm so curious about it, but I post this inquiry here, every 2-3 years, just to see if it rings a bell with new participants. As I said, it's black-and-white Western, probably filmed in the 40's. In the last scene, the young, good-looking cowboy ... likely the "hero" ... is in a saloon/eatery, talking to the pretty waitress. In their conversation, he tells her of fresh eggs that are available. This leads me to think that a shortage of fresh eggs was one of the sub-plots of the story. The "hero," is a Roy Rogers type. But, I don't know if it was him. I looked at his films, on IMDb. There were gazillions of them, and not one would give you any idea about sub-plots. Anyway, thanks for indulging me ... again. I may post again, in a few years.

Possibly "The Egg and I" (1947)? City slickers go to the Country to become Chicken farmers.
