Körkarlen (The Phantom Carriage) Teleadm, I hear this one is great, but I haven't been able to see it yet. It was directed by Victor Sjöström (who also directed one of my favorites, The Wind), and decades later was the star of Bergman's wonderful Wild Strawberries. I see it's on youtube. If the quality is good, I'll try to watch it. Spiderwort, it was in the early 1970s that swedish television one summer showed as a theme one late evening a week as a theme silent classics, mostly american but they threw in a few swedish movies too, so it's a long ago since I've seen Körkarlen (The Phantom Carriage), but a few scenes have etched themselves into my mind. That summer they also included two horror movies my mother didn't allow me two see, The Phantom of the Opera and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The Phantom i've seen later in life in a 1930s re-cut version with a spoken introduction, so I didn't include that one on my list though I thought that version was great, I don't know what is missing from the original version.

As an afterthought I should have included the horror-comedy The Cat and the Canary 1927 by Paul Leni.
