Anybody like cooked rhubarb? I made a small pot yesterday, and it turned out great. If you make it thick and chunky-like, it's similar in consistency to chunky applesauce. It's got this amazing tart flavor to it that IMO is really good. You have to use a fair amount of sugar (or sweetener of some type) to overcome the natural sour taste of rhubarb, but if you sweeten it properly, it's really good.
Since I'm cutting out sugar, I used powdered Nutria (which is stevia-based) instead of sugar, and it was an excellent alternative.

[thumbs_up_sign] IS it PURE rhubarb (rhubarb ONLY, NO strawberries or any other fruits, etc...), or do you put strawberries (or some other fruit, etc... in it too)?

Great addition is a few of those little purple plums. Maybe 1/4 plums and 3/4 rhubarb.
Amazingly good even using plums that have been hiding in the deep freeze since 2013. Bumper crops occasionally get lost in there.
This works with pies OR the sauce. Add vanilla ice cream and whoa !

...as a kid growing up, we used to eat raw rhubarb from a neighbors garden...very sour but edible... Yeah, when I was a kid, my grandmother used to grow rhubarb, and I remember trying to munch one of those beautiful, ruby-red stalks, thinking it was going to be a sweet treat. WRONG. lol

Used to eat Rhubarb pie when visiting my grandmother as a child too. Sadly I haven't had it since. I know I liked it but I can no longer remember what it tasted like.

We're going to find the old rhubarb recipes my mom used to make. We had it growing in our garden growing up. FRESH!!!

It's very easy to grow . . . like a weed! That, and mint. Plant mint, you'll have it forever! It will thrive just about anywhere. It's very invasive.

...as a kid growing up, we used to eat raw rhubarb from a neighbors garden...very sour but edible... I loved raw rhubarb, raised by grandparents, grandma knew I could eat so much she wouldn't have any left. So she gave me my own plant. I wouldn't eat it raw anymore but do like it cooked.

I used to make my grandmother's recipe for rhubarb crisp. Have not made it for quite a while. She sprinkled a packet of strawberry jell-o in there to sweeten it.
