can’t do that. He’s just as bad as Taika ThaPissy.
It will be lame jokes and irreverence.

Gunn should NOT be writing the script for this character. It’s quite worrisome.

When Gunn tweeted out, asking people what they wanted to see at the big announcement thing he was doing, my response was, "Your resignation."

When Gunn tweeted out, asking people what they wanted to see at the big announcement thing he was doing, my response was, "Your resignation." I love how fickle "fans" are. Everyone was cheering when Gunn was announced, and the instant he does one thing (that was inevitable anyways) they dislike, those same people are now clamoring for his resignation.

Not all fans were happy with Gunn’s selection. The poster you responded to probably wasn’t, and neither was I. Fans’ opinions vary. My disapproval of Gunn’s work is based solely on his filmmaking style. I don’t even know which decision you’re talking about.

Folks are acting like it was his decision alone or he came up with the idea of getting rid of Henry, most likely he didn't and it was already being planned before he came onboard.
Yet somehow he's being singled out for this.

The Waititi comparison seems right, though at least Gunn is a creative filmmaker from a technical standpoint.
He’s such a miserable writer, though. His stories aren’t even that bad, it’s just his dialogue and character choices. The humor is so bad, I can’t actually believe his screenplays ever get green-lit.
If he can work with a sane person to write the dialogue while he creates a basic outline to fall in line with the rest of his plan, it could work. It sounds like he’s just writing the whole thing, though.
Not ideal.

Gunn is not the ideal writer, I agree. Reverence for the character didn't work either though.
WB is going down a tricky road. Disney isn't making Captain America movies in a separate universe. The truth is we need one Batman. Either Matt gets on board or his Batman needs to go. That's just the truth. One connected universe. You don't start with a multiverse.

DC's problem is that they keep hiring directors who refuse to play ball and have their films co-exist with others. They want complete control and total isolation for their characters and that's selfish and petty.

They shouldn’t have any connected universes. That fad is on its way out. They should just let everything stand on its own.

Gunn should NOT be writing the script for this character. It’s quite worrisome. Yeah I'm not on board with him writing a Superman movie. I'm fine with him doing stuff with the more wacky and obscure characters, but I don't think he's a good pick for Superman. That being said I welcome him to prove me wrong and deliver us a good Superman script.

Now is not a good time to try and start over with another DC cinematic universe.

Superman requires a dignified, sophisticated script.
Ffs, all these movies are adaptations of comic books that were originally aimed at pre-and-sub-adolescent readers. We're not talking of filming the life of Gandhi or any significant figure whose existence bettered the life of humanity.
Fannish 'reverence' cracks me up sometimes.

The MCU’s glory days are over because they kept dropping the ball. I love how fickle the "fans" are showing themselves to be. When Phase 4 started with the D+ shows, Shang Chi and No Way Home everyone was loving it all.
Then Love and Thunder came out and all of sudden it's all "Oh, I never liked anything in Phase 4 except Spider-Man". ONE MEDIOCRE MOVIE and that's all it took.
Hypocrites.

The Dark Knight and Joker rose above the expectations of the genre. If superhero films are limited, you are limited.
