Catholic priest and anti-abortion advocate Frank Pavone, who leads the advocacy organization Priests for Life has been removed from the priesthood by the Vatican.
“This action was taken after Father Pavone was found guilty in canonical proceedings of blasphemous communications on social media, and of persistent disobedience of the lawful instructions of his diocesan bishop.”

Pavone seems to think he can fight this.
Saturday evening he posted a defiant statement to his followers, in which he addressed statements to Pope Francis, the apostolic nuncio to the United States, and the U.S. bishops. The statement was signed “Fr. Frank Pavone” in spite of the Vatican’s announcement that he is no longer a priest.
