Shias believe that Ali was the true heir to the prophet, Sunnis believe it was Umar and Abu Bakr. Shia imams dress in black, Sunni imams in white. Most Muslims belong to the Sunni school. Shias practice temporary marriage (called Mut'a in Arabic), what many would call another term for prostitution. You can rent someone to be your wife (or husband) for a limited period of time. Shias defend this practice saying that Muhammad did it and it's for people who are unfit to get married. Also, Shias venerate Muhammad's daughter in exactly the same way that we Catholic & Orthodox Christians venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lord's Holy Mother. Yes, they believe more in the importance of lineage when it comes to who should be the successor to Muhammad. Ironically, Muhammad's believed descendant is the king of Jordan, a "Sunni" country. |

Wow, that's amazing. There is also a Shia holy day, that venerate the martyrdom of Fatimah's (Muhammad afore-mentioned daughter) son, by Sunnis. |
