Not sure of any "Missing" frames...
However, there is something that is not clearly depicted in this scene and in the Eiffel Tower sequence in Superman II...
Many people have asked: "When Superman catches Lois,
doesn't the "Sudden" stop hurt Lois?"
The question is Moot, because there is NO "Sudden" stop for Lois!
Watching the scene, "Frame by Frame"...
We see Superman flying up to catch Lois... and then we next see him catching her. But look at the building behind them!...
Superman is actually falling as he catches Lois!... They slow down, Stop, and then they fly upwards...
Superman & Lois do the same thing when Superman catches the Helicopter...
They Fall, He grabs the Helicopter, they stop, then they fly upward.
WATCH THE DAILY PLANET BUILDING (BEHIND SUPERMAN):
Same thing happens in Superman II...
When Superman catches the Elevator at the Eiffel Tower, He does so,
while he is falling...
WATCH THE EIFFEL TOWER (BEHIND SUPERMAN):
Superman "falling" before he catches things, is not depicted well... We expect to see...
Superman fly up... Slow down... Stop... and start falling... and then see the objects that he wants to catch, come to him... However, we don't see that...
We just see him flying up the building... and then it cuts to Superman catching something with a short glimpse of the building moving the "wrong way" behind him...
This may make it seem like frames are missing, but they are not...
It's just that, for some reason, the film makers just skip showing us this necessary "procedure" required by real world physics.
I hope that answers your question...
If not, and you are referring to something else... Then, I am not sure what you are referring to... As far as I know, all the different versions of the film, feature the same "Cut" of the Lois/Helicopter rescue sequence as seen in the video clip posted above...
I've seen the Theatrical Cut, The Director's/Special Edition Cut, and the Extended TV Cut... Is there another Cut of the film?
