But as a Jew, I get a little bothered by this commercial where Cecily Strong (who I've had a crush on for years) says to Albert Einstein, "You tried to save a buck on it."

Einstein's Jewishness doesn't seem to be a factor here, unless I'm missing something.
EDIT -- Okay, never mind. I get it now. The stereotype.

imo ... Smart not money is the focus of "You tried to save a buck on it."
"Reads" to me as a "you are a genius ... but you did something dumb" thing ... Jewishness not a factor.

I guess if Christopher Walken can play an animated squirrel in TV ads, Paul Giamatti can do this. It's not like the movie industry is doing all that great anymore.

Wish my sister was still alive so we could talk about it.

I saw some commercial with Matthew McConaughey in a laundromat. I can see him driving a Lincoln, but not doing his own laundry in public. But yeah, actors got eat.

He could play Einstein in a movie. Matthau was great was Einstein in I.Q. Andy Serkis plays him in Einstein and Eddington.

Definitely reading too much into it. Snowflake culture has everyone, snowflake or not, looking for offensive content all the time.
