A stone cold American classic, if I may be so bold. As Kevin Love might say, a heart of love is a heart of hearts.

alpha128, I figure I don't even need a limb here to go out on, I'll stake my own flagging reputation (be it good or bad, if I even have one), by saying this is a stone cold classic (American or not).
Those chord shifts, ah ...

Covered by Eddie and the Dr. Eelgoods, live in 1975 when you were there in LONDONIS?

This probably sounds rather sneering but, depending on mood, it's either the Olof Arnalds or Electrelane covers of I'm On Fire. But after buying the Columbia LPs box set on a whim a while ago I discovered that I like him quite a bit more than I used to. So I'm not sneering.

I just like the chorus on this one.
'She says, baby if you want to be wild, You got a lot to learn, close your eyes, Let them melt, let them fire, Let them burn, 'Cause in the darkness, there'll be hidden worlds that shine, When I hold Candy close she makes the hidden worlds mine ...'
Letters exchanged by Bruce Springsteen and fan Renee Pulley ...

I'm afraid I don't know these bands. I'll have a listen to their covers, thanks. The Olof Arnalds sound like they might be scandinavian.

Electrelane are hit and miss for me, some of their more experimental numbers fail rather badly; but they're worth a listen. Olof Arnalds is a female solo singer from Iceland, with a wonderful voice. I need to get back into my box set, there were far fewer duds than I expected, and I even liked some of the non-singles on Born In The USA, which was most unexpected.

I'd like to hear some music from Iceland. I really only know the Sugarcubes, that might be it. Thanks for the recommendations!

It's quite varied. I listened to this - - earlier today, for the first time in a while and enjoyed it. OTOH, if I had to choose my very favourite Icelandic tune, it's probably this - Which is quite different, to say the least!
