BBCBulgarian Bogdan Dochev said: " Diego Maradona ruined my life. He is a brilliant footballer but a small man. He is low in height and as a person." God will no doubt finally confirm or deny the assist.

Not being English, I can state categorically that I am very glad that the Hand of God goal stood. It created an entire sub-section of football folklore that is still talked about 30 years later. Football history would be poorer if the goal had been disallowed.

Linesman didn't see it because he was counting the bills in his backhander from the Argentine team....allegedly.

That second goal wasn't too bad, though.

I still blame Shilton.

What did Maradona do to him? It's not Maradona's fault that Dochev didn't see the handball. This would be like Jim Joyce blaming Armando Galarraga for ruining his life.

There were a lot of people at fault that day, the ref, the linesman, Maradona, and indeed Peter Shilton can not be let off the hook either. When you consider Peter Shilton's catalogue of errors and his well known gambling problems, there comes a time when perhaps his integrity has to be called into question. We've been screwed out of almost every WC in living memory. In fact the only reason we weren't screwed out of the last WC was because it would have been completely unnecessary. You beat a man for long enough, sooner or later he wont get up again.
