Not watched it yet, but to say I'm excited is an understatement.
This highly controversial religious horror directed by artist Eric Swelstad has been manually rediscovered, meticulously rebuilt and then fully restored using all available materials. A short cut was circulated for many years, but this is a far longer cut, basically the complete feature-length edition (or as complete as it currently gets).
It's now been released on blu-ray as a deluxe super-package so I had to pay top dollar.
Cinema never truly dies ... (the title is now 'Heartland Of Darkness') ...

No way. I don't exaggerate, it's a movie many have sought out these past decades based upon reputation alone.
My advice (for what it's worth as a fellow horror fan) - check it out (especially while there's a limited edition blu-ray available with a plentitude of optional extras).

It's also available on Tubi. Might check this out. Never heard of this film until now, and sadly it might take some time before I get to see it, as Tubi no longer is an option. Spent too much money on movies last couple of months, but might try to look for it later on. Anyway, thanks for the heads up Petrolino. Not sure if anyone has seen (or if it is out yet) the sequel to another Linnea Quigley movie, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball-O-Rama, which I think Michelle Bauer is actually directing.

I've not seen the 'Sorority Babes' sequel. I think it's directed by Brinke Stevens.
Another lost Linnea Quigley film is rumoured to be on the way to dvd / blu-ray, Brad Sykes' 'Scream Queen' (2002) which has been issued a new trailer. I've seen several of Sykes' low budget horror movies; my favourite is 'Demon's Kiss' (2002) which was released the same year, so I'm hoping this sees the light of day.

Brinke sounds about right, just me getting Michelle and her mixed up, from time to time. Not sure if the long "awaited" follow up, is much to really look forward too, but since I do like the original, I guess one will sooner or later try to see it somehow.

I've watched 'Blood Church' three times already and have to say it's been worth the wait. Now going by the alternate title 'Heartland Of Darkness' (the working title was 'Fallen Angels'), it's a terrific horror movie centred around the "Satanic Panic" tabloid press movement that generated hysteria in the 1980s in order to push a moral, socially conservative agenda promoting the benefits of censorship. A lot of research was put in to it and a book on Satanism published in the 1980s served as a further source of inspiration. Soundstages were built inside an industrial complex in Columbus, Ohio that had been used in mechanical engineering to test the strength of iron and steel. There's plenty of location work, including scenes shot at Ohio State University, and director Eric Swelstad (he's from Indiana) uses rhythmic dolly shots, intense close-ups and curious side angles to bring Copperton to life. There's also some intriguing visual experiments with depth of field.
This movie is awesome! It's available through Wild Eye Releasing who specialise in horror films; the new label releasing rare and rediscovered horror films is called Visual Vengeance.
