I recently learned two illogical and contradictory facts.
Jehovah's Witnesses are not supposed to have beards. If beards were unnatural, why did Jehovah give facial hair to men?
The Watchtower Society has recently been granted approval to develop a 200 acre site in Ramapo, New York, to construct a sizable Bible study center. The Governing Body discourages its member from higher education because the rapture is just around the corner and having a masters degree is kinda useless when Armageddon happens. Why build a bazillion dollar bible center if Jehovah is going to kill all of mankind sometime this spring? Is it really a bible study center or a bible indoctrination center?

Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in the Rapture. Don't be technical.

I'm actually surprised they spent so much they spent on the study center, their places of worship ("halls") are usually quite small modest rooms, really look more like a small lecture room than a church:

Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in the Rapture. Don't be technical. It’s the “440,000” for them.

It’s the “440,000” for them. I think you mean the 144,000.

1) Business have grooming standards for their employees... it's not that unusual. 2) They also believe that Armageddon will destroy the wicked of the earth.. not the actual earth. They might fully believe this structure will survive into "The New System".

Who says it's this spring? That was my estimation based on a YouTube video of "Stephen Lett final days" And since Jehovah is such a loving God, here's a quote from Psalms 137:9 of the Jehovah's Witness' Bible

If Jehovah didn't want beards, (s)he wouldn't have given them out JWs claim that their primary goal is to please Jehovah.
(2)Why bother. After Armageddon their old HQ in Brooklyn will be standing and empty. They can just study their bible back in NYC so there is no need for these plethora of buildings in Ramapo. IOW: The Governing Body doesn't practice what they preach. They keep the hoi polloi uneducated and dependent while they scare them into towing the party line.

Who says it's this spring? That was my estimation based on a YouTube video of "Stephen Lett final days" So, even though the video is two years old, you're able to estimate that the end is this spring, as opposed to, say, next spring, or winter. If you want to point out the nonsense of what JWs say, then stick to what they actually DO say rather than making your own estimates of what you think they mean. As far as your question about why spend a pile of money on a study center if the end is close, there doesn't seem to be any point in saving money if the end is close.

"This spring" was just my wild-ass-guess. They're always predicting "just around the corner". And since it has not happened by now, it's still in the immediate future. (It's always in the immediate future) What's your estimate as to when Armageddon will happen. You make a good point. There is no reason to save money. But these buildings are years from completion. If one is going to piss away the company's funds, let's spend it on something that we can use TODAY. There will be plenty of un-occupied buildings after Armageddon for them to use.
Psalm 137:9 of the Jehovah's Witness' Bible or 2 Kings 2:24 What a loving Jehovah

Psalm 137:9 of the Jehovah's Witness' Bible or 2 Kings 2:24 What a loving Jehovah
There's nothing particular to JWs about those scriptures. You'll find them in any Bible, and you could mock ANY Christian denomination with those verses, saying "What a loving God".

Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in the Rapture. Neither do 99% of Christians.
