Yeah, seen Joel twice. Joel's drummer broke a stick and chucked into the audience. I don't know what possessed me but I flatted some skinny girl to get it. Not my proudest concert moment
Harsh moment, but good you got to see him in concert.
I seen so many concerts. I worked for many years as an assistant manager for a local record store. The owner was chummy with the people who ran the Memorial Auditorium and the local Rock station so I could get tickets for nearly any show I wanted. I had to travel for some (not everyone hit Buffalo) but I seen a lot of good shows. And I have one more in me, we are going to catch Springsteen on March 23rd.
Man, working at a record store was a dream job in the early 80's. Concert tickets, promotional posters, free albums (got to take the ones that the store played on the sound system). And every hot chick in Buffalo came in.

I was friendly with the owners of a couple of independent music stores when I was younger. One of them, I used to sell vinyl to that I picked up from charity shops, this was good for beer money. I remember selling him 'Catch A Fire' (1973) by the Wailers and it had a piece of the album artwork missing that devalued it. Most money I got was when he verified that an album I'd found by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich was an original pressing, and it was signed by several members of the band.

A friend of mine's father did a used vinyl business on weekends. The old man let Tim run the shop one weekend. He had a blue fit because Tim bought two singles by a group he had never heard of. Ronnie and the Rumblers. The "Ronnie" was Ronnie James Dio and he turned those records into a hefty profit.

Yes, mostly I would make a small amount back on batches of used vinyl, but it was a fun way back then to learn about music.
The only record store I've worked in is 'HMV'. Didn't like it at all, very corporate, no passion among the staff for music, could have been selling anything.

It was a local chain, Cavages. Not a Mom and Pop store where you got one or two copies of new releases but it wasn't a huge operation like Tower or National Record Mart. It was probably 80% geared toward Rock, we sold very little Chopin.

Bernie Taupin & Maxine Feibelman get married (as the Catholic Church overreacts) ...
Wedding Blues ('Tiny Dancer')

No but I just watched his 'Farewell US concert' on Disney + I guess as someone else says he's had more than one of those, lol, but he is 75 so...
It was good. Good memories. He's had an incredible career, that's for sure.

Nope, he loves his football, put some money where his mouth was. Deserves respect.
He was shown no respect in Luton.
Don't know the incident, was it one of those "Don't sit down if Elton's in the ground" songs? He always took those in good fun.

No, never made it to one of Reg's shows. He was never really my cup on tea. Other than Tiny Dancer, I could take or leave his music. And he only played here once. I would have liked to see that one, as it was the tour with Billy Joel. For some reason, I didn't go. I think the ticket prices were outrageous, but I could be wrong.
Surely no great loss if you're not really in to the music. Especially as Billy Joel does 'Tiny Dancer' live. But did you get to see Joel another time?
Billy Joel with Little Jimmy Scott, Sting & Elton John
I saw Little Jimmy Scott live with Lou Reed on the "Magic And Loss" tour. Unique voice.

I've never seen him in concert. However, he was playing in Florence, Italy, when I was there in 1998, and I saw him at an outdoor restaurant.

His voice went after his throat surgery in about 1980? He managed to get away with it until a few years back, but anyone paying good money to listen to him now can only be doing it to say "I've seen Elton live". Away from his Diva antics seems a good bloke, Danny Baker tells how he'd help out behind the counter at the record shop where Baker worked in the mid 70's at the height of his fame when he was on one of his mammoth record buying sprees .

Do you think he should have done his final tour with Taron Egerton handling the vocals? Or maybe Adam Lambert?
I heard some people suggesting here in U K that national treasure Sam Ryder might have been up for it.
Sam Smith ... Sam Fender ... Sam Ryder ...

Bernie Taupin on vocals. Mind you, I have his solo album somewhere and it's shit
