The Bills will be one of the top 3 teams in the AFC for years to come. There's just very stiff competition at the top of the conference. It'll be interesting to see if the Jags continue their upward trajectory, too. The next generation of good-to-great QBs is definitely taking over. The Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, Chargers and Jags should be going to the playoffs every year with even half-decent coaching. I would've included Lamar and maybe even Tua, but with their injury history, it's tough to pencil them in year in and year out. I think the Jags are poised to be the dominant team in the AFC South now - Lawrence should be a great franchise QB, and the Jags have some solid pieces - they need to improve their defensive front 7 and get a couple more receivers for Lawrence to throw to, and if they do that theyβll be a championship contending team. The other AFC South teams all have a lot of work to do and a lot of question marks. I donβt trust Lamar all that much, Iβm not convinced heβs a strong passer. Tua has a lot of potential but heβs very injury prone like you say. And while I think Herbert is a great QB, thereβs something about the Chargers I donβt trust, they seem to underperform every year and their defense never seems to improve.

With Lamar and Tua it also seems like we don't know where they'll be next year. Which is odd to think, but there seems to be a possibility they'll both be elsewhere. I cannot believe that Baltimore would cut ties with Lamar. But there's a lot of people saying that he's gone. I know a lot of people there are pissed that he sat out the playoff game with an "owwie". And it's never seemed like he wants to stay in Baltimore or Baltimore wants him to stay. And the blockbuster QB deals for ones who aren't truly elite don't seem to be prudent now (see Murray, Kyler and Wilson, Russell for examples). But its a hell of a risk to trade him, spend a shitload to move up to draft a big QB and find you drafted a bum. Unless you draft a total lump like JaMarcus Russell, It takes at least three years to get a read on a QB. Or longer, the Giants still have to decide about Dan Jones.
Tua is different. It's all about the concussions and his susceptibility to concussions. Miami would love to keep him if he's healthy. But if he's going to be in the Blue Tent every time he gets hit, they might have to move on.

I honestly think Tua should quit playing football. He's not just injury prone, he's concussion prone, he just barely hits head on the ground and he's got a concussion. At this rate, the dude's going to be a vegetable by his 30th birthday.
Although, I don't recall him ever getting concussed when he was at Alabama. But as we well know, the NFL is a totally different game. Much rougher...
Of course, him diving head first into the defense doesn't help.

I've been wondering if we've ever seen this many potentially great up and coming QBs in the league at one time.
What is it.. like 7 or more?
Herbert Mahomes Allen Hurts Lawrence Burrow
Tua (maybe? if he can stay healthy)
and then there's a few unknowns at the moment -
Pickett Stidham
Purdy Lance Love

That's the thing, once you've had a concussion, it makes you that much more susceptible to getting another one. And Jesus, the guy had two in like four days. Not sure if you've ever had one, but believe the hype, they suck. Tua is a professional football player, and a young one at that, so no doubt it's going to be hard for him to consider retiring. But he has to seriously take into consideration what he wants the rest of his life to look like.

I wouldnβt put Stidham in the same category as those other 4, heβll be a career backup QB. I think Pickett has a good future ahead of him with the Steelers, and Purdy has been very impressive and has to be the guy in SF going forward. Lance and Love are true question marks, weβve seen so little of them that I have no idea what they will be like. Iβm also curious about Desmond Ridder on my favorite team, the Falcons, does he have what it takes to be a starting QB in the NFL? I think he has some potential.

I think I had a mild one this one time when I was playing defense (free safety) in school. I got trucked by a fairly big running back and it took me a few minutes to get up and I don't really remember even being on the ground. But I made it into the huddle for the next play, I at least remember that much...
I decided to quit playing after that season.
