Let's use an example like the NHL. The Canadians, Euro's and Russians have been known to have a superior product over the years - one may think that's debatable (yes - I know these cultures have members of a certain creed in the NHL). What if they 'globalized' the sport? i.e. - one week you're in Japan. the next Russia. the next Brazil. Hear me out. I get it - travel time. Time off. Length of season. Here's the beauty of it. I'm a proponent the seasons are too long. 82 game hockey season? It's chopped in half pretty much down to 40 or so and you're traveling the Globe. Playing the best of the best? To my international friends out there outside of the U.S. - who are major fans of soccer and cricket and australian 'footy' - don't you hunger to be 'in the loop'? Have our product expand? Thoughts? Discuss.

$ = not a chance
You want fewer gates, more travel costs, & for a league like the NHL to take all the risk. Good luck.

Worst idea I've ever heard. Please don't talk about hockey.

NBA maybe. MLB in certain areas, likewise NHL. It will never work for NFL. The simple reason is that American sports are dominated by Americans. Locals have no hope. And you cannot use Soccer as a 'guide' to anything sports related solely because of its truly global reach.

I like the idea of a shorter season and worldwide play. With a few tweaks it could work!
