Indie filmmaker Dustin Ferguson, known for helming indie horror films like Arachnado, Amityville Toybox, and Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor, has optioned the rights to the 1967 movie.

Ferguson involved doesn't give me high hopes. Thing is I'm a massive Lon Jr fan, but I never saw the big deal about Spider Baby, sure most of the other horror related work he was doing at this time was worse but I'll take his 1950's horror flicks over that one.

I agree. I think it's the title and the actor and that's about it. The movie itself is rather bland and dumb.

Lon Chaney does some impressive acting in it. The scene where he is giving a monologue near the end with no edits or cutaways and starts weeping spontaneously.
Then there's Ralph.
