I’m using it as a measure of success, not quality. TLJ is a horrible film. It may have been a box office and critical success but if it killed the merchandising cash cow then it didn’t do it’s job. Even the silly prequel trilogy didn’t quite manage to do that. And? Contemporary cinema criticism is ridiculous and episode 8 could have been two hours of Luke doing his taxes and it would have made money. The film sucked and ultimately didn’t fulfil it’s potential if it killed an important revenue component of the franchise.

1. Luke wants to kill Kylo (Ben Solo) because of a Darkside dream. This is so ridiculous! We are supposed to believe that Luke would want to save his father from the Dark Side (who committed real life atrocities by the thousands) but he would feel compelled (even briefly) to murder his nephew over a Dark vision about him!?! WHAT? Even the scene looks ridiculous. He stalks into Kylo’s room with the look of a child molester. Then stands over Kylo preparing to strike him with this totally psychotic, unhinged look on his. It surpasses anything ever seen from prequel (Dark) Anakin. It’s even crazier than anything that ever came from the Darth Sidious/the emperor! LOL! Just look at this bonkers nonsense! No Sith Lord in the history of Star Wars ever had a moment so crazed and psychotic! But this is supposed to be Luke Skywalker because of bad dream about his nephew! LOL!!Ahem...
Anakin had those dreams/nightmares repeatedly over and over again. For months, perhaps years. We even see him ask for advice and try to use meditation to cope with them. He was also younger and more naive in the time period he had them. Luke has one bad dream and he goes into psycho nepoticide mode. Nah!

So well received that Last Jedi faded away at the box office fast, Solo bombed, ROS underperformed, andStar Wars on film is now in limbo TLJ and TROS both made a billion dollars and the ratings speak for themselves:
The Phantom Menace 51% & 59%
Attack of the Clones 65% & 56%
Revenge of the Sith 79% & 66%
The Force Awakens 93% & 85%
The Last Jedi
91% & 42%
The Rise of Skywalker 52% & 86%
All Star Wars movies made over a billion dollars adjusted for inflation, except Solo and the Clone Wars animated movie. So that’s a poor analogy. screenrant.com/highest-grossing-star-wars-movies-ranked-adjusted-inflation/#star-wars-the-empire-strikes-back-1980---1-935-billion

Oh, Anakin - the killer of women and children - had those dreams more than once? Totally different.
You got absolutely torched in this thread. You know it, I know it, anyone who has even peeked at this thread knows it. Now you're trying to bump it? Take the L and move on, my man.

Yeah you totally missed the point the comparison, didn’t you! Not surprising. I got torched in this thread? Why? Because you’re the only one in the thread saying so?… Nah! Don’t think so.
