296 if we're just talking North America. I had no idea the number was that low. You gotta think probably a hundred of those are garbage games.
Like if you wanted to, you could complete that collection pretty easily. How weird is that?

I'd say only about 40 are worth owning. If even that.
But that's actually good, because it's kind of fun to go through the selection of games trying to find games that don't suck. There aint many. At least it isn't as bad as the atari jaguar selection.

From the looks of footage from it. Superman seems like it might be worth owning. I hear it has it's moments.
Even though overall it's a bad game.

Yeah, it came out late in the console generation and the limitations of cartridges meant it had little 3rd party support. Still, I would say the average quality of games was better than the PS1 or Saturn.
My N64 collection:
Goldeneye Ocarina of Time Wave Race 64 Lylat Wars (aka Star Fox 64) Castlevania 64 Jet Force Gemini Banjo Kazooie Banjo Tooie Mario 64 The World is Not Enough Perfect Dark Xena: Warrior Princess - Talisman of Fate Mario 64 Donkey Kong 64 Diddy Kong Racing Rogue Squadron Hybrid Heaven Mario Party WWF No Mercy Hercules: The Legendary Journeys South Park: Chef's Luv Shack Mortal Kombat 4 Pokemon Snap Pokemon Stadium

Majora's Mask is my last hold out. I'd like to get it eventually but I still haven't beat Ocarina. I only have the 3DS version, it's pretty good - very different from other Zelda games. I prefer the more conventional Ocarina personally.

Nintendo refused to switch over to CDs, a decision that cost them huge (PS1 pretty much won that console war). CDs have way more memory and easier for developers to work with, so as a result PS1 had a way bigger library, it's probably no coincidence the best N64 games were made by Nintendo themselves
