In college basketball I find Duke fans to be incredibly obnoxious, I despise Duke and their elitist attitude and I thought Coach K was a massive dick. It doesn’t help that I have some people in my family who are huge Duke fans that are obnoxious right wing pricks that I don’t get along with at all.
In college football some fanbases can be fanatical about their schools to the point of it becoming rather toxic. I find Tennessee fans this way to an extent, but hell the whole SEC has some fanatical fans for each school - also I hate Penn St and how many people in their fanbase continue to respect Joe Paterno the pedo enabler who put football ahead of children getting raped. Fuck him and fuck anyone who still respects that piece of shit.

I think most anti- whoever or whatever fans are at least 10x as obnoxious as any fan base. I often muse that LeBron James has just about the pettiest detractors on the planet. That was until the Steve Smith detractors came along. Still,I guess we prefer harmless hobbies for these types...

It's about ones that are comprised of fans who are toxic. These people tend to incessantly denigrate along with extolling their favorites. That's the main reason behind the list I compiled. There's also a hell of a lot of ignorance that accompanies the praise and what amounts to drunken pontificating. Being against these types of behavior is not only understandable and rational, it's wise. |

Plus, Santa had it coming! I live in Jersey but about an hour outside of Philly with a lot of Philly fans. Most of the ones I'm cool with are great fans and acknowledge that their fanbase is insane. Any Philly fan who has actually been to games has to acknowledge that or they're completely full of shit. |

The American media trying to drum up ratings by reporting on drunk fans acting unruly in the streets after a team wins the Super Bowl or World Series (baseball fans getting drunk and punching each other in the parking lot or GASP! Eagles fans climbing a lamp post outside a bar a few years ago after they won the Lombardi), seems rather pedestrian after you read through the world cup news, where the fans actually DIE!
