A-
I've always been a legit fan of it, what it is more than what it's not. Batman Returns was not for me, so this was a step up. BF plays for me as near The Animated Series as we'll likely ever get. Kidman is the grown-up in the room which helps Kilmer, & Carrey as The Riddler couldn't have done more for its all-ages audience.
I've begun taking the Batman franchise like Dracula or something - where different actors/directors & we just pick & choose what's our subjective lane.

6/10. Not a great movie but enjoyable and has some strong moments if you can get past the wackiness.

5/10. It's a step down from the Tim Burton films, but it's still fun. Val Kilmer was decent as Batman. Jim Carrey's zaniness works as the Riddler. I hated Tommy Lee Jones's portrayal as Two-Face. Flipping his coin multiple times to get his desired result defeats the character's misguided duality of justice. I liked the inclusion of Robin in the film, and Chris O'Donnell does well in his part. However, he was of little to no help to Batman during the climax.
That said, the art direction is fantastic to look although it's distinctively different from Burton's more gothic architecture. While the Burton films had their campy moments, Schumacher takes it even further and in my opinion, it's for the worst. I pray Warner Bros. releases something of an assembly cut with Bruce's psychological scenes restored into the film.
