Have you seen any of the Star Trek movies? Nope. Never watched any of the TV series either. No interest, or just haven't gotten around to watching any of them?

I'm going to just assume I will agree that Bardo has the best cinematography out of the movies you watched. Crowe and Bacon were both second. What would be your choice for cinematography of the ones you've seen? Babylon was runner up for me. I know A River Runs Through It was nominated, but I haven't seen it in a long time. Babylon would be my choice from the ones I remember.

I'd probably put it fourth after Bardo, Babylon, and Noah.

I've actually only seen a couple episodes from the original series. I did use to watch The Next Generation, Deep Space 9, Voyager, and Enterprise with my brothers when I was a kid.

The Sleepers score has some that reminds me of The Fugitive score.

I've been meaning to rewatch The Fugitive, but I do remember really liking JNH's score for that one.

I was worried if it would be hard to follow the first 10 without watching TOS or TNG. Getting to know the characters would be the biggest benefit of watching the shows first, but I feel like for the most part the stories of the movies do a fairly good job of standing on their own. Khan is in one episode of the original series though.

Welcome back to another week of the BEST & WORST edition of 'what movies did you see last week?' thread. For those who haven't been part of it before, basically your host (me) posts my weekly movies and you can comment on those and list your movie for the same time frame. I will get back to you on yours and you can talk to other users here about their films. It's a great place to talk about film. FIRST TIME FILM VIEWINGNone this week, am on vacation so have only watched a few episodes of shows late at night. FIRST TIME TV VIEWINGLockwood & Co (2023, Season One) NetflixThis is an 8 episode English supernatural adventure series from Joe Cornish ( Attavk the Block) based on a series of books. It has some cool mythology and is well presented although done storytelling is rushed and sloppy. Good TVWEEKLY FILM AWARDSBEST FILM: BEST ACTOR: BEST ACTRESS: BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: BEST EDITING: BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: BEST SCORE: BEST SCRIPT: BEST DIRECTOR: 10/10 - Perfection (or as close to it as possible) 09/10 - An Excellent film 08/10 - A VERY Good film 07/10 - A Good film 06/10 - A Solid film 05/10 - An Average film 04/10 - Below Average film 03/10 - A mostly bad film 02/10 - A mostly terrible film 01/10 - Awful through and through 00/10 - Not only awful but offensive Hi, Dark. Here I am. Happy vacation. Mine: Decision to Leave 8/10 It's Park Chan Wook new movie, about a married cop who investigates on the death of a man, and falls in love with his wife, who's the main suspect. Then there are twists. I liked it, it's fun, I liked the twists. The ending is beautiful. I loved the lead actress too, Tang Wei. The Bravados 7.5/10 It's a western with Gregory Peck and Joan Collins, about a rancher who goes to a small town to witness the execution of a gang of robbers whom he's convinced have raped and killed his wife. They escape prison and he leads a posse to hunt them down. I enjoyed it, it's beautiful visually, also, it's better to watch it without spoilers, IMO, I wasn't expecting where it was going to end up. The cast is good, I liked Henry Silva and Lee Van Cleef. The Long Hot Summer 7/10 It's a Martin Ritt movie, with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, it's about a con man with a shady past who ends up in a Southern town and starts hang around the richest family of the area. It's O.K., not great, IMO, kind of soap oper-ish. The cast is good, there's Orson Welles too in it, Lee Remick, Anthony Franciosa...I read Paul Newman and Martin Ritt weren't happy with the movie, because the studio interfered a lot. San Andreas 4.5/10 It's the movie with The Rock, Carla Gugino and Paul Giamatti, about a pilot fireman trying to reach his daughter and his ex wife in Los Angeles and San Francisco after the Big One hits. O.K., I didn't like it, it really feels a bit ridicolous, IMO, especially the tsunami scene...

First Time Viewing My Dear Killer (1972; Tonino Valerii) - Unusual more plot-centric giallo which ends up being too convoluted and emotionally distant to really rise above average. 6/10 TV Sherlock Holmes (1968) - Only a handful of episodes of the second season of this series featuring Peter Cushing as Sherlock Holmes have survived and sadly judged by these few this doesn't feel like a great loss since the show is very stagy and rather dull. Cushing was reportedly unhappy with his performance and I would say this is strictly one for Sherlockian completists. 5/10 Repeat Viewing Edge Of Tomorrow (2014; Doug Liman) - One of my favourite Tom Cruise movies, like any good time-loop movie this is endlessly rewatchable. 8/10 Hey Raven, Just one from yours: Edge Of Tomorrow (2014; Doug Liman) 8/10

It turns out a lot of people seem to hate the ending (the montage, etc...). And I like it a lot. Agreed on both Decision to Leave and The Long Hot Summer.
