The is not a particularly good movie, but it does have an interesting idea at it's core. The movie is similar to many westerns in that it is about a cold-blooded killer who found love and had a child. His wife is then murdered and him and his daughter go out to find the killers to get revenge. Now what makes this interesting is that the daughter basically suffers from some sort of anti-personality disorder. Nicolas Cage's character is the same, but his wife was the one person who made him feel anything. The father starts as apathetic towards the daughter presumably since she was born because of his lack of emotions and it is possibly meant to be implied that he doesn't like her because he knows she is like him. On their journey for revenge they form a bond and the daughter begins to have feelings towards her father. The main issue with the movie is how it handles the subject matter and the overall story. Sloppily. As I said, not a good movie, but it is a step above many of Nicolas Cage's STV movies. I can almost recommend it for the performances from Nicolas Cage and former Razzie nominated young actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong. In fact, I want there to be a sequel or a TV series about her character. It is also notable that this is the first western Nicolas Cage has ever starred in. My rating - 5.5/10

I liked it a bit more than you, but we're basically on the same page.
