Both bands started off with two albums that are considered undisputed classics of the 90s, but the quality of their music since has been widely criticized. What does anybody think? Which band had the better one two punch out of the gate? Which band has had the best output, or should I say less disappointing output from album #3 onward?

That's a deceptively difficult question. I think both have a small handful of amazing songs, and the rest sucks. I call it a tie.

.......weezer...........you jerks. now I have to be upfront and state I am a weezer fan....like seriously, so i'm obviously biased. if you compare The Green Album to Be Here Now both are overly polished, but weezer's album is tight and focused, Be Here Now is just aimless and overindulgent. and I feel weezer has stronger hooks and melodies in general, but they also experiment more than what oasis has done......whether or not it turns out well is another discussion. now, weezer's lows have probably been lower than oasis's......fucking raditude and hurley...and oasis does have wonderwall, which is and will always be more popular than anything weezer has and will make, but weezer has managed to make 2-3 public comebacks, oasis's popularity kind of died out after Morning Glory. I mean just compare the last good oasis song
to the last good weezer song

I'm only familiar with the first three albums from both bands and I'd rank 'em:
Weezer Definitely Maybe What's the Story? Weezer Be Here Now
Pinkerton
I voted for Oasis, because I really dislike Pinkerton

I agree with NxNWRocks; both are equally likeable, but only have a few select songs that are decent.
I vote for Weezer. When they made Pork and Beans (2008) at the time, it was still catchy. You could tell they really haven't lost their touch since the 1990s. I was also introduced to Buddy Holly (1994) back then thanks to Bill Gates and Windows 95 for promoting their music video as part of the operating system. So, for me, they had a better introduction.
Oasis is pretty forgettable. The only song that I like is Don't Look Back in Anger (1995), and even that took me 15 years to discover due to it being featured in an episode of Chuck (2007) when I watched it in 2010.
