I'll throw this out there on the odd chance anybody else may have run into a similar situation, and could benefit with this (relatively) simple Chrome Hardware Acceleration setting change. Recently I've been running into this situation a number of times while online on my desktop, and usually when I've been scrolling down through a lengthy webpage (most often on YouTube, sometimes with Gmail, and other times while randomly scrolling down through various other webpages), where the page would suddenly lock up, and then after about 30 seconds or so, I'd get the "Page Unresponsive - Wait or Exit Page" popup, like this: While trying a few different things to see if I could get this randomly intermittent problem to stop cropping up, I found out that by simply switching OFF Chrome's "Hardware Acceleration" setting, this problem suddenly stopped happening, and I haven't had it happen again in the couple of weeks since I switched this setting off: To Turn Chrome's Hardware Acceleration Off:
-Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of any open Chrome webpage -Click on Settings-Click on System (with the little 'wrench' symbol next to it) -Swipe the slider for Use hardware acceleration when available to the OFF Position (to the left) -Close Settings page Method 2 on this page: thegeekpage.com/google-chrome-page-unresponsive/SAVE FERRIS

That might also help for folks using Firefox.
Click on the Menu icon (three horizontal bars), choose Settings. On the General tab (which is open by default), scroll down and down and down until you come to Performance (second to the last item) and uncheck the box next to the 'Use hardware acceleration when available' option.

Just realized that switching off Chrome's Hardware Acceleration may have also cleared up another issue I've had for quite a while, but one that wasn't quite as frequent as the "Unresponsive Page" issue once that suddenly had cropped up........that of streaming video that would VERY randomly freeze up completely, even though the audio would continue playing.....requiring me to reset or restart the video in question, to get it working properly again......
