I can’t believe that I’m blanking on this. I have a feeling that the answer is obvious. What is the movie (or possibly TV show) that has Virgin Mary statues that are made of plastic explosives? It’s all part of some crime plot. I Googled but couldn’t find the answer. And then I remembered that this forum is way smarter than Google.

The only Virgin Mary statues that I can think of were in the TV Series: LOST , but they had bags of heroin hidden inside them...

Oh yes MCDemuth. I’m a huge LOST fan and I had forgotten about that plot line. Maybe I’m mixing that up with some other movie or show that had little statues made of plastic explosives. Thank you. I think it’s time to watch LOST again.

I know I have seen something with that idea (statues made of plastic explosives) but can't think of it.

Sounds almost bizarre enough to have been an old Avengers plot, but I don't recall an episode like that. A second guess could be either The Prisoner or Dangerman, but I suppose Patrick McGoohan was a good enough Catholic to have vetoed such a storyline

I was about to say Black Sunday (1977), but then I remembered Bruce Dern was only paranoid about a miniature Virgin Mary statue that might be a plastic explosive, but it wasn't.

The one I recall had them being smuggled into or out of a country.

Probably completely off, but the first thing to come to mind is Gene Hackman smashing the statue in The Conversation.
