I do remember this show series. It was a bigger deal to see your favorite TV stars in a different setting back then. Occasionally you’d see a few performances that barely passed for amateur athletes. I think it eventually got canned because the performances got so consistently bad not even star power could make it entertaining. This concept was reinvented with ballroom dancing. Can you say “Dancing with the Stars” anyone? |

Yes, loved that show as a kid. I typically rooted for ABC.

That show was apparently on it's way out by the time I was paying attention to, and more importantly, remembering what I watched on TV. It's a shame that it ended when it did, as Fox Network was just getting started. I don't know if actors from that network's shows were participants.

We had Superstars over here where sportsmen competed against each other at various athletic events, most of which they were hopeless at.
I believe they had it in the US too.
