How did you not sense any anger and cynicism from Andrew? I sensed anger after the flashback but that was quite late in the movie. But that anger was understandable so to me nothing out of ordinary that would define him as such. And I didnt get cynicism at all. How was he cynical? He was skeptical (rightly so) and level headed to me. Because he believed everybody had an inherently bad quality and on some level was disgusted with him for being homosexual, it ultimately informs his behavior moving forward. Remember he buys a gun, starts training for self defense, and is completely irrational unto anyone with an opposing perspective.

Would have to see it again to reconsider, but yeah, he was my favorite character, and I felt like he had good depth and didnt seem your typical one dimensionally portrayed tv gay guy. and getting a gun after experiencing a physical attack is a pretty understandable reaction too. so yeah, i liked him. to me they were The Rational one and the Emotional/ Spiritual one.
