He's excellent as Dominic in Banshees of Inisherin, the gom. Is that word bad now? I only know it from the movie which seems to take place about a hundred years ago.

Keoghan is a real scene-stealer. He will make a good Billy.
But...the question comes up as with many modern remakes, reboots, sequels, etc. - is it really necessary after all the Billy the Kid movies that came before (unless the producers and writers have a really new approach to the oft told story, which I will have to see to believe)? Thus far, the Billys I can think of off the top of my head are: Johnny Mack Brown, Paul Newman, Audie Murphy, Michael J. Pollard, Val Kilmer, and Emilio Estevez. All of these are highly fictionalized but the broad plot points of them all do contain history.

That's good I am glad he is getting good roles.
I am rooting for him to win the Oscar though I know he probably won't. He broke my heart in Banshees.
