B+
I caught its premise - Burl Ives as a genie from a bottle - & recorded to watch. Turns out, co-starring Barbara Eden as Tony Randall's finance here, it was the early cousin to TV's I Dream of Jeannie. Burl Ives is a bit of a John Candy role here for the early 60's.
It actually plays the genie idea straight - with consequences of getting anything at anytime - like who would be out of a job in your office if you didn't have to show up anymore, & disregarding all legal & safety regulations if you magically appeared your ideal real estate community design out of the ether. Funnily enough, a dinner scene with full Persian abode, is a near mirror of Temple of Doom's palace feast - being served lamb's eyeball soup no less as gag.
Its tremendously light & breezy humour wasn't long for the cinema - its brand all but taking over TV airwaves instead. The end of a that family rated sense of humour era in the movies.

It's been many years since I saw it, but it was harmless fun as I recall.
