I am a rank traditionalist about this subject and do not think with the open access of network TV to people of an impressionable age that any religion should be mocked there, or important and revered figures such as Jesus should be mocked. Therefore I voted no about such blasphemy. When people are older they have more of a basis to realize what is behind or involved in such expression. So parents are allowed to brainwash their children with such superstitions, but it should be illegal for anyone to be able to present the other side of the argument? I didn't say anything about such being illegal. I think the networks should self-regulate on this.

Acting like challenging religion is a problem, or that it's figures must be respected, is stupid.

I'd been thinking more about content aimed at adults but I suppose you make a good point. Where do you draw the line though? Content aimed at teenagers ok? Yes, that is a difficult thing, where to draw the line. Perhaps this could follow the PG-13 sort of cut-off.

Blasphemy can and will be allowed anywhere that isn't the location of who is describing the blasphemy.
What would I care?

Christ on a bike, yes... Do you think God doesn't have a sense of humour? God's sense of humour is not sneering, hate-filled and blasphemous. Your blasphemy makes you even more like Gadreel, that's one of his favourites.

As I am a firm believer in religion being a personal choice and way of life This is why I don't accept you as a Christian.

Every once in a while on the old board, some ass-hat would pop their head up and ask, "Why do atheists have to stick their noses in other people's business? Why can't they just let people believe what they want to believe?" (or words to that effect)
The OP's question is why. Because all too often, belief isn't just belief -- practiced in private homes and private heads, not imposing on anyone else. Some religious people are so entitled, they genuinely don't seem to understand that no, it's not OK to force people who don't share your belief system to act as if they do.

Respecting your imaginary religious figures isn't something any of us are required to do.
Understand this; We do not care about your nonsense beliefs and certainly don't care about living or being censored as though we do. If you're offended, deal with it.

As I am a firm believer in religion being a personal choice and way of life This is why I don't accept you as a Christian. Luckily for everyone, it's not your place to accept anyone as a Christian or not... that's Christ's job... you would do better to listen to his command not to judge.

Blasphemy can refer to taking the Lord's name in vain or can refer to mocking, disrespecting, or attacking a religious figure or ordinance (ie. mocking Jesus). Based on what you feel is blasphemous, should it be allowed on network tv shows? If blasphemy refers to only this, then yes. However, if blasphemy also covered attacks on adherents of a religion (e.g. hate speech), then it would be ok to restrict it IMO. Since it's not the case here, I vote yes.

censorship in any degree is too much censorship. people should be allowed to make up their own minds.

As I am a firm believer in religion being a personal choice and way of life This is why I don't accept you as a Christian. So you don't believe religion is a personal choice or way of life? I find it utterly hilarious how you feel you have the right to decide who is or isn't a Christian. Just because I chose to not place my own moral code and standards onto others, and too accept everyone, regardless of their choices in life, does not make me any less a Christian than you say you are. I find it even more laughable that you feel the constant need to argue with people from your own religion. You are, without a doubt, the most judgmental person I have ever had the misfortune to come across. I will will let the bishop and my viicar and most importantly me, decide if I am not a 'real' Christian dear, not you.

It actually IS her place to judge. As 'Ada Lovelace' she fashioned herself as a female pope. She alone is qualified to say who is Christian and who isn't.
