I saw it a while ago. It's decent but not much more. It has a strong cast and a good-enough premise, but it's familiar and nothing special. A fine way to kill 90 mins, but not particularly memorable.
That trailer makes it seem a lot more action packed and slashery than it is though. It's more of a creeping relationship drama punctuated with horror moments and a sorta steady paranoid tone.

I really thought the big twist would be:
The killer is the landlord's brother.
That would explain why he didn't know about the cameras.

I think that's what they were trying lead you to believe, but the reveal they went with was a little more interesting, I think.

It's still a little confusing though. So the killer rents the place first and puts in the hidden cameras, then kills the people, comes back and takes out the cameras? And either NOBODY'S going to find the bodies that are just laying around, or when the landlord, etc., comes by they'll have no idea what happened.
I actually do kind of like though that we never find out who the killer is or why he's doing it, from the audience standpoint, that's piss-off material, but it works because in real life a lot of victims never find out who their killers are or why they're doing it, that part is never solved from their perspective, or even from the police perspective.

I'm just gonna proceed assuming nobody is reading this who hasn't seen it; but I think the killer finds out what place is gonna be rented and goes there ahead of time, but he can't rent it first because then he'd be the link in the pattern of these disappearances. I liked that reveal, sorta. Yeah it might piss some people off, but a random crime is creepier in some ways. It's the Michael Myers (pre-sister/Part II) kinda thing, but here sorta reminded me of The Strangers.
