It's been on the 'Books for Charity' shelf in the local Co-op for months now... Other football books have sold in that time... Nobody is interested in poor Stevie G's book, and I'm starting to feel sorry for him... Any takers here, only 50p?

Any takers here, only 50p? That was one of those out for Christmas books a few years ago - think of all the landfill caused by these celeb / sportsman cash in books... Anyway, I don't remember too much about it other than he definitely predicts TAA will become a star player.

Just been to the Co-op... Stevie G is still on the shelf.
Now he has been joined by Robbie Fowler, My Life in Football.
Will keep an eye on them, which will sell first 🤔

Fowler put up some crazy numbers early in his career, that's all I remember about him. Did he have injury problems?

As a Liverpool supporter, I've always rather marveled how many Euro sides cut their arms off to win a Champions League title... & yet when Liverpool are stumbling & bumbling at home, win the CL title, it's meh by onlookers. In return, it feels sometimes like Liverpool fans question themselves if winning CL is as important as most of the rest of the world views it. Strange.

Just to extend upon that - I always find it truly amazing that a city like Liverpool, not exactly the largest - smaller than Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, etc - managed to produce the club who have been so incredibly successful not only in England but on the European stage as well. And it's the same town which produced The Beatles!

But poor Stevie G is still on the shelf. I await the next football biography to go up against Stevie G's, and which sells first.

This reminds me of former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist when he went on a comedy interview show and one of the hosts held up a copy of Gilly's autobiography. "So you're the one who bought it!" "Well, actually this was a Christmas present, so I got it off Santa. And to be honest I've only glanced at a few sections." "They shipped 30'000. 29'999 are landfill, so you're a legend...Santa. I wrote that book 12 years ago and absolutely nothing has happened in my life since so if you want to read it now, it's still the whole story."

Ladies and gentlemen, a new contender has appeared in the Co-op books for charity footballers biography race. The new book to take on Steven Gerrard My Story is... David Beckham My Side.
