Came out on March 1st. Any fans of the album? It's known for popular songs like Money, Us and Them, Time, and The Great Gig in the Sky.

It's an album I enjoy listening to with the lights dimmed. Very atmospheric.

Loved it very much when I began to pick up the interest for Pink Floyd and prog rock/psychedelic music of the early 70s, but as I got further into both their earlier and later albums, Dark Side kind of fell behind over time. Last time I gave it an 8/10, which is not bad, but still a long shot away of 10/10, as was how I once felt about it.
Their debut, Meddle, and later on Wish You Were Here along with Animals, somehow become bigger favorites, even though the latter two I have not heard for far too long, so it might be time for a little musical update.

Can't deny it's a great studio album, suffers from being too "clinical" for me. I always preferred the pastoral English psych of the early period, but from the prog days I think "Animals" has aged better than anything else they did. The last shout of a band rather than Roger's DIY therapy sessions.

Remarkable to have stayed on the charts for as long as it did. I bought it twice, vinyl and CD. One big memory is when we had an annular solar eclipse in the late 90's (not sure what year). Not an eclipse that throws you into total darkness but its a dimmer switch and it cast very odd shadows. The local rock station was playing Dark Side constantly that day and had timed out so Great Gig in the Sky was playing at the height of the eclipse. I wasn't the only one playing it as loud as my stereo would go. Very cool. We are supposed to have a total here in April, 2024 and I'll have to have Dark Side ready.
I loved all four of Floyd's big run, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Animals and the Wall. I'm in the minority in preferring The Wall. I know its pretentious. But it came out right when I had my last knee surgery in 1979. i played that vinyl over and over and over. Kept my mind off of my woes and I've had a soft spot for it. I've never played single tracks but always from the start ("we came in") to finish ("is this where").
